| Custom Windows Event ID Logging

Customers can now specify any Windows Event IDs and send the logs directly to Armor for inclusion in paid logging engagements.

  • We are excited to introduce a new feature that allows Armor customers to send logs for specific Windows Event IDs to their allowed events. | Enhanced Health Status Messaging for Trend in AMP

Overview: We have made important updates to the health status messaging for Trend within AMP. These updates are designed to provide clearer and more accurate information regarding the health status of your machines, specifically concerning the File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) sub-agents.

  1. Accurate Health Status Descriptions: The health status message for Trend has been updated to accurately reflect the status of the FIM and IDS sub-agents. Customers will now see the following messages:

    • FIM: “The FIM sub-agent is not compatible with the Kernel or Operating System installed.”

    • IDS: “The IDS sub-agent is not compatible with the Kernel or Operating System installed.”

      • These messages replace the previous, less informative message, “Matching module plug-in not found,” ensuring that users have a clear understanding of the machine’s health status and any potential compatibility issues.

  2. Improved Clarity for Users: These updated messages are designed to provide clear guidance to users, helping them understand the exact status of their system’s health and any necessary actions to address potential issues.

  3. Documented Changes: All changes made to the health status messaging have been thoroughly documented to ensure transparency and provide relevant stakeholders with the information needed to support customers.

Improved Error Messaging for Trend Agent Installation Failures

We have addressed an issue that was causing unclear or incorrect Health Status messages in AMP following a failed installation of the Trend agent. This update improves the accuracy of error reporting and ensures that users are properly notified when a Trend agent installation fails.

Key Improvements:

  1. Accurate Error Messaging: After a failed installation of the Trend agent, the Health Status message in AMP will now correctly display: “Trend has failed to complete installation.”

    • This message provides clear information about the installation failure, allowing users to take appropriate action.

  2. Unhealthy Notification: If the Trend agent fails to install, AMP will now trigger an agent unhealthy notification, alerting users to the issue so it can be promptly addressed.

  3. Enhanced User Guidance:

  • A new tool tip has been added to the Schedule Task page within AMP, providing users with additional guidance when encountering installation failures.

  • The tool tip message directs users to relevant support documentation with the following text:

    • “The Trend agent has failed to properly install, please check Armor KB for additional information.”

Resolved Issues

Health Status Miscommunication: Previously, after a failed Trend agent installation, the Health Status message in AMP incorrectly displayed a generic error message. This has been corrected to reflect the specific issue with the installation.

Steps to Verify:

  1. Uninstall the Trend agent on a server.

  2. Observe that the Health Status message in AMP correctly reflects the service status as “Disabled - The customer opted out of this service.”

  3. Attempt to reinstall the Trend agent. If the installation fails, verify that the Health Status message updates to “Trend has failed to complete installation.”

  4. Confirm that a notification is triggered for the failed installation, and the new tool tip on the Schedule Task page is visible with the correct information.

Enhanced Error Messaging for Qualys Agent Installation Failures

Overview: This update addresses an issue related to the Qualys agent’s installation process, specifically focusing on the accuracy of Health Status messages in AMP after a failed installation attempt. The update ensures that customers receive clear, actionable error messages and notifications when the Qualys agent fails to install.

Key Improvements:

  1. Accurate Installation Failure Messaging: After a failed installation of the Qualys agent, the Health Status message in AMP will now correctly display: “Qualys has failed to complete installation.”

    • This message replaces the previous, incorrect status of “Disabled - The customer opted out of this service,” providing clarity and enabling customers to take corrective action.

  2. Unhealthy Notification Trigger: AMP will now automatically send an unhealthy notification when the Qualys agent fails to install, alerting users to the issue promptly.

  3. Guided User Assistance: A tool tip has been added to the Schedule Task page within AMP, providing users with direct access to additional resources.

    • The tool tip includes a message guiding users to Armor KB for further information and troubleshooting steps related to vulnerability scanning and agent installation.

Resolved Issues:

Health Status Miscommunication: Previously, after a failed Qualys agent installation, the Health Status message in AMP incorrectly reflected that the customer had opted out of the service. This has been corrected to display the accurate failure message.
