Note

There is a cost associated with a public IP address that is not assigned (routed) to a private IP address. If you have a public IP address listed in your account that is not assigned to a private IP address, Armor recommends that you remove that public IP address from your account.

The status of the public IP address with respect to your private IP addresses

  • Not Routed - When a public IP address is not assigned to a private IP address.
  • Routed - When a public IP address has been assigned to a private IP address.

  1. In the Armor Management Portal (AMP), in the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then in the top menu, click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Click Public.
  5. Click the plus ( + ) icon. 
  6. Review the information under Envrionment and Quantity, and then click Add IP Addresses
  7. Locate and hover over the newly created public IP address. 
  8. Click the vertical ellipses.
  9. Click Assign to VM.
  10. In Virtual Machine, select the desired virtual machine.
  11. In IP Address, select an available private IP address.
  12. Click Create NAT.

Note

There is a cost associated with a public IP address that is not assigned (allocatedrouted) to a virtual machine. After you unassign a public IP address, Armor recommends that you delete remove the unassigned IP addressesaddress.


  1. In the Armor Management Portal (AMP), in the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click in the top menu, select the corresponding data center. 
  4. Click Public
  5. Locate and hover over the desired public IP address.

  8. Click Remove NAT again.

Note

If you do not plan to use this public IP address in the future, to avoid additional costs, Armor recommends that you remove the public IP address from your AMP account.

  2. Click Relinquish IP.
  3. Click Relinquish IP again.

Note

this can be removed cause of the above sections

has been updated but need to test because this simply removes the associatoin between ip address and vm; however, i would assume that the ip address would still be listed
