Note

By default, IP addresses assigned to a virtual machine are private; however, you can request a public IP address.

Armor offers one free public IP address per virtual machine. You can request additional public IP addresses for the same virtual machine at an additional cost.

Additionally, there is a cost associated with a public IP address that is not assigned (allocated) to a virtual machine.

Note

There is a cost associated with a public IP address that is not assigned (allocated) to a virtual machine. If you have a public IP address listed in your account that is not assigned to a virtual machine, Armor recommends that you remove that virtual machine from your account.

The status of the public IP address with respect to your virtual machine.

  • Not Routed - When a public IP address is not assigned to a private IP address.

NEED TO TEST Maybe this section can be removed because there shouldn't be any unassigned public  ip address; you should have to ask for one and then immediately assign it?

Note

In this example, you can only assign a public IP address that appears as Not Routed.


  1. In the Armor Management Portal (AMP), in the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Click Public
  5. Locate and hover over the desired public IP address. 
  6. Click the vertical ellipses.
  7. Click Assign to VM.
  8. In Virtual Machine, select the desired virtual machine.
  9. In IP Address, select the desired private IP address.
  10. Click Create NAT.
